Days, months and seasons
Gregorian and Hebrew calendars
Days of the week are ordinal numbers after יוֹם: the week starts on Sunday, and only Saturday has its own name. In writing the days are often marked by letters: יוֹם א׳, יוֹם ב׳. The Gregorian months are loanwords; the Hebrew months are used for holidays and dates on documents.

“On Monday” is בְּיוֹם שֵׁנִי, “on Saturday” is בְּשַׁבָּת, “on Fridays” is בְּיָמֵי שִׁשִּׁי. The weekend, סוֹף שָׁבוּעַ, is Friday and Saturday.

“In May” is בְּמַאי, “at the beginning / end of September” is בִּתְחִלַּת / בְּסוֹף סֶפְּטֶמְבֶּר.

In a leap year a second Adar is added: אֲדָר א׳ and אֲדָר ב׳.
