Pa'al conjugation, hollow roots: לָקוּם — to get up
Two-letter (hollow) roots: לָקוּם, לָגוּר, לָשִׁיר, לָשִׂים
The middle root letter — ו or י — is not pronounced as a consonant. The infinitive is לָ… with “u” (לָקוּם, לָגוּר, לָרוּץ, לָטוּס, לָזוּז) or “i” (לָשִׁיר, לָשִׂים, לָרִיב, לָדוּן). The 3rd person past and present coincide: קָם means both “he got up” and “he gets up”.

The ע״י type keeps “i” in the future: לָשִׁיר → אָשִׁיר, תָּשִׁיר, יָשִׁיר; לָשִׂים → אָשִׂים, יָשִׂים. The verb לָבוֹא (to come), with “o”, is in the special verbs table.
