Pa'al conjugation, roots ending in ה: לִקְנוֹת — to buy
Roots ending in ה: לִקְנוֹת, לִרְאוֹת, לִשְׁתּוֹת, לִרְצוֹת
The largest group of “irregular” verbs: the third root letter ה disappears or turns into י. They are easy to spot by the infinitive ending ־וֹת. Also: לִרְאוֹת (to see), לִשְׁתּוֹת (to drink), לִרְצוֹת (to want), לַעֲשׂוֹת (to do), לִבְכּוֹת (to cry), לִחְיוֹת (to live), לִבְנוֹת (to build), לִשְׂחוֹת (to swim), לַעֲלוֹת (to go up), לִפְנוֹת (to turn to).

The feminine present is קוֹנָה (not קוֹנֶת) and, without vowel points, looks like the 3rd person past קָנָה (he bought). Vowels and context tell them apart.
